Despite a busy schedule since her arrival, Miss Universe 1993 Dayanara Torres had a family reunion of sorts with her old Filipino friends.
Over the weekend, Angeli Valenciano arranged a "welcome home" dinner for Dayanara at the Ruby Jack Restaurant at the City of Dreams, Parañaque City.
Dayanara was formerly managed by Angeli's talent management outfit, Manila Genesis Entertainment, during her heyday in local showbiz after her Miss Universe victory.
Angeli also confirmed that her company will represent Dayanara once more as she takes another shot at her local showbiz career.
In her Instagram post, the talent manager shared that the reunion was meant to gather just Dayanara's old friends, including Martin Nievera, Pops Fernandez, and Ariel Rivera, but mentioned that they all couldn't make it.
She wrote, "One thing led to another and we ended up with this wonderful group of friends."
The group was composed of Gina Valenciano, Rajo Laurel, Nix Alañon, Tim Yap, Angeli Valenciano, Rey Rolla, JM Rodriguez, fellow beauty queen Ruffa Gutierrez, and Gary Valenciano.
Rajo designed Dayanara's gold gown which she proudly wore during the preliminary presentation a few days back.
The beauty queen thanked Gary's wife for the get-together and for "making me feel so Welcomed & at Home!"
In English, her caption reads, "An unforgettable night with my family in @manilagenesis."
The Puerto Rican beauty also did some catching up with fellow beauty queen Ruffa Gutierrez.
She captioned, "Con Mi Amiga Ruffa!!! Tantos Recuerdos!"
In English, it reads, "With my friend Ruffa!!! So many memories!"
Yari, as Dayanara is also called, flew back to Manila last January 24 to be one of the judges at the Miss Universe pageant to be held tomorrow, Monday morning, January 30, 2017, at the Mall of Asia Arena.
