MTRCB Chair Rachel Arenas says she was misquoted about statement on regulating films online: "I didn't say, I want to regulate it. Ang sabi ko, they should do self-regulation..."

"I was interviewed by a radio station in Pangasinan and when they wrote about it, I would assume that they only chose the key words, pero ang tanong talaga sa akin noon, paano yung mga pirated DVD?

"So ang sagot ko, ‘Hindi iyan under MTRCB. That's under Optical Media Board.’

"And then sabi ko na kapag minsan nga rin, hindi lang yung pirated dahil meron tayong napapanood sa Facebook din.

"And then, meron din mga napapanood ang mga tao online although legal naman iyon na binabayaran sa Netflix.

"But I didn't say, I want to regulate it. Ang sabi ko, they should do self-regulation or be more prudent in the shows or movies that are going out sa mga menu nila.

"Nung nasagot ko iyan right after it came out, parang after three days, lumabas ulit siya.

“Sobrang daming reaksiyon, kung anu-ano."

Muli, nilinaw niya ang naging pahayag.

"so I just want to clear that I said, 'Maybe they should self-regulate,' kasi hindi iyan nasa jurisdiction ng MTRCB.

"At kung gusto man din naman na sa amin iyan na jurisdiction, we have to amend the law," pagtatapos ni Arenas.
