Anne Curtis on fiancé Erwan Heussaff: "When you actually meet the one, you just know. When he's down on one knee, you just know. Eto na talaga yun, meant to be."

For the first time, Anne Curtis related what went through her mind when her boyfriend of six years Erwan Heussaff proposed to her.

It happened last November 2016 at Steep Rock Preserve, a 974-acre preservation known for its hiking trails, in Washington, Connecticut.

Anne recalled, “I really, I couldn’t think. Magaling si Erwan mag-isip.

“When I was there, my whole mind was focused on the New York marathon. So, it really didn’t cross my mind that he would propose there.

“That’s why ang galing nga, e. He knew I wouldn’t expect it.”

Asked how she knew that Erwan is "The One," Anne said that she instinctively felt the moment he asked her to marry him.

She elaborated, "In my mind, I always thought, 'It's gonna happen another year. Or am I ready?'

"My career, all the things I wanna do, my bucket list...

"But when you actually meet the one, you just know. When he’s down on one knee, you just know.

"Eto na talaga yun, meant to be." (Philippine Entertainment Portal) briefly caught up with Anne after she was launched as the new celebrity endorser of Jollibee, which was held at the fast food chain’s Glorietta Mall branch, yesterday, February 15.

The 31-year-old Kapamilya actress also shared that Erwan couldn’t have chosen a more apt setting than where they got engaged.

Anne said, beaming, “That’s super us! We love to travel. We love going to places that aren’t super touristy.

“Like after a hike and setting up for a picnic over a beautiful view of fall… We’re living the moment.

“It was just so beautiful and charming that we were alone together there.”

Anne admitted that she and Erwan preferred to keep their relationship low-profile from the start.

But for their wedding, the Kapamilya actress hinted that it’s something that she would like to “share” with the public.

She didn’t say, however, if their wedding will be held here in the Philippines or abroad, just like with the married couples in her and Erwan’s circle of friends.

Without giving any detail, Anne said, “Both Erwan and I have actually made our relationship not so much in the spotlight.

“But he’s becoming more open to it.

“In terms of the wedding, he knows that it can’t be full on private from everyone. I will have to share it. And he’s okay with that.”
