Post ni Katrina, “My father, Juan Ponce Enrile, was arrested in the plenary hall of the old Senate building along Taft Avenue in 1990, while the Senate was actually in session during former President Cory Aquino's term and it was then Secretary of Justice Franklin Drilon, who manufactured a non-existent crime of conspiracy complex with murder.
“I was there to witness how they took my father out of the Senate halls and how they brought him first to the National Bureau of Investigation with no less than Alfredo Lim leading the arresting team.
“The only Senator who accompanied my father and I to the NBI was then Senator Joseph Ejercito Estrada.
“Now I hear Senator Leila De Lima saying that she hopes that the police authorities respect the halls of the Senate and not arrest her there.
“I have nothing against the lady Senator.
“I actually know how it feels being in that situation.
“I will pray for Senator De Lima. But it's been done before,” pagtukoy sa sinapit ng kanyang ama.
