Joselito Padilla, a former sea urchin diver from Bolinao, Pangasinan, graduated from college through the help of news journalist/TV host Kara David's Project Malasakit.

A young sea urchin diver recently proved that sheer hard work really does pay off.

Through the help of news journalist/TV host Kara David's "Project Malasakit," Joselito Padilla finished college with a degree in BS Marine Transport at the PIMSAT Colleges.

Back in 2007, GMA's I-Witness featured the hardships of a family in Bolinao, Pangasinan, whose daily life depends on their daily harvest of sea urchins.

One of them was the young Joselito, a fourth grade honor student.

According to the documentary, they only earn eighty pesos to one hundred pesos per day.

Since then, he joined Kara's passion project as one of their fifteen scholars.

Ten years after the documentary was aired, the journalist was more than proud to share the 20-year-old student's latest feat.

His success story instantly became viral after "Project Malasakit by Kara David" posted it on Facebook last April 7, 2017.

The proud graduate also shared Kara's post.

He captioned, "napakabilis lumipas ng panahon 10 years na agad ang nakalipas..
