Ai-Ai delas Alas said that her boyfriend Gerald Sibayan’s move to take their three-year relationship to the next level was an “answered prayer.”

According to the Comedy Queen, the day Gerald proposed to her was the same day she asked for a sign if he is truly the right man for her.

Yun ba yung sign?’”

As cliché as it may sound, the 52-year-old veteran actress believes that putting God at the center of their relationship made her and Gerald strong, no matter how hard some bashers have tried to bring them down.

PEP and other entertainment reporters caught up with Ai-Ai right after the presscon of her movie Our Mighty Yaya, which was held at 38 Valencia Events Place in Quezon City, last night, April 19.

SIMPLE BUT SWEET PROPOSAL. Last April 12, in her Instagram collage, Ai-Ai showed photos of her diamond engagement ring from Gerald.

She also shared a snapshot of Gerald’s handwritten note that read, “Will you marry me?”

The 23-year-old former badminton varsity player also gave Ai-Ai a cup of her favorite coffee and a vase of green roses, arranged by Marian Rivera’s newly-opened floral shop, Flora Vida.

Recalling how Gerald proposed to her, Ai-Ai said, “Isang gabi na nagising na lang ako na ibinigay niya yung singsing.

Truth be told, Ai-Ai admitted that they originally planned to get married this 2017.

She elaborated, “Tapos, di ba, umurong ako? ‘Huwag muna. Parang hindi pa ako ready.’

“Nakakatawa, ako pa yung hindi ready!"

Ai-Ai also said that she also knew about Gerald’s intention to marry her as early as last year.

“Wala. Basta dedma lang ako.”

PERFECT TIMING. Another entertainment reporter asked, “So, you weren’t surprised at all when he finally proposed?”

Ai Ai’s marriage with her second husband Jed Salang lasted for only 29 days back in 2013.

While Ai-Ai and Jed got divorced in Las Vegas that same year, it was officially recognized in the Philippines, according to the Kapuso star, just last year.

And yet, after all her previous heartaches, Ai-Ai remains optimistic about settling down with Gerald.

Beaming, Ai-Ai said, “Ganun pala yun, 'no?

"Kapag nandiyan na, iba pala yung ipinipilit kaysa yung natural na lumalabas.

“Kasi yung last ko, pinilit ko kasi yun, e.

“Marami akong gustong ipaglaban. Marami akong gustong patunayan.
