Richard Gutierrez has been charged with tax evasion by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).
According to thestandard.com.ph’s report today, April 21, BIR alleges that Richard and his production company R Gutz Production Corp. failed to pay P38.57 million worth of taxes in 2012.
The report also mentioned the amount “includes surcharges and value added tax.”
The Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP.ph) tried to reach Richard's camp for an official statement through a message to his mom Annabelle Rama via Facebook.
According to Richard's legal counsel, Atty. Marie Glen Abraham-Garduque, Richard has not yet received a copy of BIR's complaint against him.
Sent to PEP this afternoon, Atty. Garduque's official statement read: "Richard has not received any complaint yet from BIR. He will answer at the proper forum as soon as he receives it."
