Eugene Domingo says Italian boyfriend is really worth the wait: "I really did not expect it. But I know I've been praying to God to please take care of my heart, and He did."

Words are not enough to describe how Eugene Domingo feels right now: she is so in love!

“I'm very inspired. I cannot describe the happiness,” she said about finding love after a very long time.

It was in December 2016 when Eugene first opened up about her Italian boyfriend, film critic Danilo Bottoni.

In April, during the Holy Week, the Kapuso star brought kilig to her Instagram followers when she posted photos of her and Danilo while vacationing in Japan.

Eugene was glad that she was able to share good vibes to other people because of her new love life.

“They know and they feel that it's really the right time, and they're happy to see you happy.

“Everybody's just like feels the happiness for you, and they're like very thankful that it happened to you.”

Asked if her non-showbiz boyfriend is worth the wait, Eugene happily replied, “Yes. I really did not expect it. But I know I've been praying to God to please take care of my heart, and He did.

“It's a blessing and I cannot stop thanking the Lord for giving me such a gift, a gift of love.”

PEP then asked if her boyfriend has already proposed marriage to her.

Eugene answered in jest, “Nag-propose na ako. Malapit na ako mag-propose!

“Ngayon, pinag-aaralan ko na. Pinag-aaralan ko lang in Italian.

“Kasi yung mother niya, hindi marunong mag-English, so me-memorize-in ko muna in Italian.”

But seriously speaking, there's no proposal yet.

“Wala pang mga ganun-ganun. We're just taking time,” Eugene said.

“Mas pinag-uusapan namin where to settle kasi, you know, we love to travel.

If ever they decide to get married, is Eugene willing to give up her showbiz career?

She quickly replied, “Yes!”

She explained, “Of course, ang mga artista walang retirement.
