Jose Sarasola about girlfriend Maria Ozawa: "I don't really wanna think when people are saying, 'Maria Ozawa, wow! Lupit! Iba 'yan! International actress yan!' I usually block out everything. For me, basta happy ako, she's happy with me, that's really what I think."

Pahayag ng dating Pinoy Fear Factor contestant, “First of all, I’m happy.

“Kasi, most importantly, masaya talaga ako ngayon.

“We finally came out sa public na we’re together already.

“But we’ve been on for a few months already, pero recently lang kami naglabas ng news and nag-post ng mga pictures together.”

Patuloy ni Jose, “It’s hard.

“Something very overwhelming din sa akin kasi matagal na po akong single, almost seven years.

“Having a new girlfriend, well, si Maria siyempre, as we all know, is an international star.

“It’s life-changing… I know medyo big words—life-changing.

“But it really is talaga, kasi she’s not just a regular girl. She’s really someone known in the whole world.

“So it’s an adjustment for me and for her as well.

“But then, importante is we’re both happy.”

LOVE STORY.

Kuwento ni Jose, “We actually met here sa bar ko, from a common friend who brought her here.

“Ever since, we kinda hit it off.

“She came here around last year, March or April.

“The first few months, the usual siyempre, text-text lang, call-call.

“She would go to Japan, we would talk on the phone sa Japan, then kamusta-kamusta.

“When she’s here in the Philippines, we see each other.

“But naging serious talaga towards the end of last year, and then recently naging kami.”

Gaano katagal silang naging magkaibigan bago naging sila?

“Siguro mga one year na kaming magkaibigan. It’s been some time na rin.”

Ano ang kadalasang ginagawa nila kapag lumalabas sila?

Ayon kay Jose, “We like watching the newest movies that are out.

“We like trying different kinds of foods since I’m a chef.

“Parang ganun, kasi we kinda like the same food, e.

“So, it’s give and take. Pareho naman kami ng mga likes and dislikes, so nagwo-work naman talaga.”

WHAT JOSE LIKES ABOUT MARIA. Paano na-develop ang feelings niya kay Maria?

Saad ni Jose, “I don’t think I really even went through the courting stage.

“Parang the more time you spend with someone, we develop something na, you know, it’s not friendship. It’s more than friendship.

“As time went by, cliché na word, pero nagka-develop-an talaga kami.

“And yun nga, the more time you spend with someone, you’ll know talaga na this someone is really special. Hindi lang siya yung normal na kaibigan.

"Dun mo malalaman talaga.”

What’s special about Maria? Bakit niya nagustuhan ang Japanese actress?

Sagot ni Jose, “Siguro all her being super famous and everything siya, but behind everything, parang she’s a normal, funny, makulit na girl din siya.

“May pagka-Pinoy din siya kahit pa'no.

“Although she’s Japanese-Canadian, may pagka-Filipino traits din siya.

“I think that’s what made it easier for me to like her more, na may pagka-Pinoy din siya, makulit din, kuwela.

“So I think that’s one of the main factors na I liked in her.”

MEN’S FANTASY. Gaano niya kakilala si Maria Ozawa bago naging sila?

“Siyempre, we all know naman talaga she’s very well known.

“Yeah, I knew who she was naman. Siyempre, in that industry,” pagtukoy ni Jose sa pinanggalingang industriya ni Maria.

Patuloy ng chef-actor, “And then she also became a regular actress now sa Indonesia, sa Japan.

“Gumagawa siya ng mga regular movies and she does modelling na din. Talagang well-known talaga siya.

“But I didn’t really make it a factor naman sa akin, na porke’t super-sikat siya, or kung ano yung past niya, gusto ko siya ligawan.

“It’s just, basically, if you get on with someone…”

“I’ve been single for a long time, talagang you know for a fact when you meet someone na hindi ko naman ide-date to, dahil sikat siya or maganda siya or may following siya.

“I don’t really believe in those things talaga, e. Hindi naman talaga ako ma-showbiz.

“Kung happy lang ako with her and she makes me happy, yun naman importante.

“I don’t really think about yung dahil sikat siya.

“Hindi naman issue sa akin yun.”

FILIPINO BOYFRIEND.

Reaksiyon dito ng Kapamilya actor, “Well, she found a Filipino guy. Happy naman ako naging kami.

“I put everything into perspective, e.

“It’s more of me lang just being happy how we are now.

“I don’t, as I said, dwell sa mga comments mga naiisip ng tao.

“I don’t really wanna think when people are saying ‘Maria Ozawa, wow! Lupit! Iba ‘yan! International actress 'yan!’

“I usually block out everything.

“For me, basta happy ako, she’s happy with me, that’s really what I think.

“I don’t really give too much thought sa mga sinasabi ng tao na ‘Lupit mo!’

“Hindi ko pagkatao yun. Happy lang ako.”
