Maine Mendoza issues a strong message to AlDub Nation: ""It's just lately, some of the fans are the ones to start and engage in conflict; until things start getting blown out of proportion. It's gotten to the point where fans are quarrelling with fans too, and not with bashers anymore," said Maine who pleaded with AlDub fans to stop spreading hate on social media.

Maine Mendoza finally broke her silence about her decision to deactivate her Twitter account with the handle name @mainedcm since last week.

Her blog post on mainemendoza.com, dated July 11, partly read, “Hi guys! I am back! After taking a breather at Maldives for 5 days (actually 4 lang, bitin na bitin!), now I am back to reality once again.

“Decided to take a break from Twitter too because Twitterworld’s been really toxic lately.

“How’s it now, by the way? Do you still remember when everything used to be fun there?

"When Twitter used to be a harmonious environment for everyone? Haha I know, me neither.

“Anyway, I just cannot stand people’s negativity there lately.

"I mean, I have enough negativity in my system already to still add and endure those.”

A netizen pleaded with Maine to return to Twitter and just report and block her bashers.

The Dubsmash Queen clarified, “For the record, it was never about the 'baddies'.

According to Maine, she was more affected by the negativity of some of the avid AlDub fans than the vitriol of bashers.

She said, “Bashers are there 24/7 since the very beginning and I honestly do not mind about them.

“It’s just lately, some of the fans are the ones to start and engage in conflict; until things start getting blown out of proportion.

“It’s gotten to the point where fans are quarrelling with fans too, and not with bashers anymore.”

Without citing any specific issue, Maine reiterated that fans should stop spreading hate comments.

“Like I have said, Twitter used to be a harmonious environment to all of us, remember the bayanihan days? Kalyeserye days? Pre-tamang panahon? Tamang panahon?

“I know things have changed but I hope we get to perpetuate the harmony among each of us.”

Two days before she deactivated her Twitter account, Maine had asked her fans to stop using foul words on social media.

She has also been firm in refusing to respond to rumors about Sef Cadayona courting her and unwilling to address AlDub Nation's concerns about her team-up with Alden Richards.

Apparently fed up by the intrigues, Maine wrote on Twitter before she deactivated her account: "Dapat ba lagi may pinagtatanggol? Hindi ba puwedeng sabihin lang kung ano ang tama?"
