For Father’s Day, Queen of All Media Kris Aquino recalled some of her fondest memories of her late parents Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino, Jr. and former president Corazon “Cory” Aquino.
Yesterday, June 17, Kris posted on Instagram a photo of a five-hundred-peso bill which bears the faces of Cory and Ninoy.
This post then served as her Father’s Day greeting, where she also recalled some of her early achievements that made her parents proud.
She wrote, “Alam ko po na bukas ay Araw ng mga Tatay- pero pahintulutan nyo po ako na ialay itong post na 'to sa mga magulang ko...
“Until her death in 2009, my Mom was really both Mom & Dad to me because I was only a year old when my Dad was imprisoned during Martial Law & I was 12 when he was assassinated.
“Before he died- sobrang na proud ang Dad dahil na interview ako sa local Boston news habang nakapila kami para makanuod sa opening day ng Return of The Jedi.”
Currently, Kris is shooting a still-unofficially-named film in Singapore, but her recent posts indicate that she is part of the upcoming Hollywood film Crazy Rich Asians.
According to her, with the scenes she already shot for the project, she will surely make her mom proud.
She also wrote, “Pero yung na shoot ko nung mga nakaraang araw- alam ng puso ko na talagang nakangiti ang Mom sa langit.
“Sa bawat show, sa lahat ng premiere ng mga pelikula ko, pag pinapadala ko sa kanya ang ratings, at sa mga bagong endorsement at sa lahat ng renewal- SUPER PROUD MOM sya.”
The actress-TV host’s last wish is to continue making her parents happy with all her current achievements, even if all these pale in comparison to their more significant accomplishments.
“Nakaka HUMBLE kasi ano ba ang achievements ko kumpara sa nagawa ni Ninoy & Cory Aquino?
“Pero ganun siguro yun- pag baby mo, kahit 46 years old na, kung ano man ang tagumpay niya, bilang magulang- ikaw na ang pinaka maligaya.
“Mom & Dad- I pray your bunso really made you HAPPY.”
