Mother Lily Monteverde declines to comment on recent MMFF 2017 hullabaloo

Ipinangako ni Mother Lily Monteverde ng Regal Entertainment na habang buhay pa siya, sampu ng kanyang pamilya, patuloy silang gagawa ng mga dekalidad na pelikula. 


Bilang isa sa pinakamatagal nang film producer  sa Pilipinas, hindi maiwasang tanungin ang Regal matriarch na si Lily Monteverde kung ano ang reaksiyon niya sa kontrobersiya ngayon sa 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

Pero tumanggi ang beteranang film producer na magkomento tungkol dito.

“I have no comment. I just stay put. Whatever their ways, we follow,” pag-iwas ni Mother Lily.

Apat na opisyales ng MMFF 2017 Executive Committee ang nagbitiw pagkatapos ianunsiyo ang unang apat sa walong official entries sa MMFF 2017. 

Ang mga nag-resign na Execom officials ay sina Ricky Lee, beteranong scriptwriter; Rolando Tolentino, kinatawan ng academe para sa all-Filipino-films festival; Kara Magsanoc-Alikpala, isang broadcast-journalist; at Ed Lejano, director-writer.

Nakausap ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) si Mother Lily sa red carpet ng 1st Entertainment Editors' Awards o Eddys, na ginanap sa Kia Theatre, Cubao, Quezon City, kagabi, July 9.

PRODUCER OF THE YEAR. Sa loob ng halos 60 taon, nakapag-produce na si Mother Lily ng lagpas isang libong pelikula.

Kaya naman sa unang Eddys, siya ang hinirang na Producer of the Year.

Pahayag ni Mother Lily, “Siyempre, I feel so, so, so, so happy.

"Of course, more than sixty-years plus. Yes, more, more films [to produce]."

Sa kanyang speech, sinabi nitong, “This awards holds a very special meaning to me because it comes from my dear group of editors from the entertainment press.”


Sabi pa niya, hindi madali ang pinagdaanan nila sa Regal Films—na kilala na ngayon bilang Regal Entertainment—upang makabuo ng isang pelikula.

Aniya, “[Regal] has produced over a thousand movies, braved many storms, hurdled countless challenges as well.

“But with God’s grace and your continued support, Regal and Mother Lily are still very much around.”

Pangako pa ni Mother Lily, hindi siya mapapagod na gumawa ng dekalidad na pelikulang Pilipino, na matagal na niyang itinataguyod sa industriya.
