Jessy Mendiola admitted she and boyfriend Luis Manzano talk about getting married in the future.
The 24-year-old Kapamilya actress said, “Oo, every day, lagi namin pinag-uusapan, umaga hanggang gabi.
“Pero alam niya, e. Alam niyang I’m not ready yet.
"I have so much to do, I want to do so much.
"And he’s willing to wait naman. I think that’s good.”
Jessy went on to say that the 36-year-old TV host-actor is the one more vocal about wanting to tie the knot.
She elaborated, “Oo, parang siya.
"Pero more than the pressure, it’s more like, ‘I’m ready.’ Ganun siya.
“He would say sometimes na, ‘I’m ready and I really feel that you are the one.’ So, yun.”
Jessy spoke to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other reporters at the presscon of her Pista Ng Pelikulang Pilipino film entry, Salvage.
The event was held at Thai Barbeque Restaurant in Ayala Vertis North, Quezon City last night, August 1.
As a woman, Jessy confessed that Luis’s words of assurance make her feel confident about their relationship.
“Yung phone ko nga, di ba? Yung mga [love] notes niya. So, parang ganun siya.
“He’s very expressive and that’s one of his traits that I love the most.
"He’s not shy to show off his feelings. And I'm very thankful for that."
ENDING TO OVERLAPPING ISSUE. The couple just marked their first anniversary as boyfriend-girlfriend last June 25.
Note that Luis and Jessy had been burdened by intrigues when they became an item in the summer of 2016.
Netizens alleged that Luis was still in relationship with Angel Locsin when he and Jessy started getting cozy.
It was also last year when Angel and Jessy exchanged words about the alleged third-party issue.
Jessy said she felt relief when Luis revealed that their relationship started five months after he and Angel broke up.
Did she feel vindicated?
Jessy answered, “No naman.
"I’ve been relieved and I’ve felt that since last year pa naman nung sinabi ko ‘yan lahat…
“Kilala niyo ako, isang tanong, isang sagot din.
"Pag may gusto kayong malaman, sinasabi ko ang totoo.
“Yun na yun, e. What I said last year is what I’m going to say now. And yun na yun.
“Naging kami nung June 25. One year na.”
LUIS AS JESSY'S "THE ONE." Jessy further said that it feels good to be free of controversy this time around.
“We’re taking our time. We’re taking it easy.
“Medyo hindi kadalian yung mga naranasan namin last year.
“Kumbaga, everything fell into place. And we’re just really happy.”
Has she found “the one” in Luis?
Jessy replied, beaming, “I’m also hoping that he’s the one.
“Palagi naman tayong ganun, when we get into a relationship, lagi natin inaasa na yung taong mahal natin, siya na talaga.
“So far, so good.”
