Jake Zyrus has a new love and he wants the world to know about it.
In a telling statement he posted on Instagram yesterday, August 14, the 25-year-old international singing sensation sung praises to a young woman named Shyre Aquino.
He said her support helped him face the consequences of his decision to come out fully as a transgender man.
Jake has not yet posted any photos of Shyre, but he wrote a long and sweet message in response to her first Instagram post of the two of them together—a close-up shot sans any caption—last Sunday, August 13.
He said, "You deserve all these good comments.
"They don't even know who you really are as a person.
"To all of you, this woman makes me feel good about myself.
"She's the reason I stopped hating myself because of what other people think/say about me.
"Other than her outer beauty, her inner beauty is one of the many reasons why I adore her.
"She's patient, funny and humble. Thanks for complimenting her. It makes me feel very proud. She's a really good human being."
Shyre posted another photo where she and Jake seemed to be spending quality time at the beach.
Her caption read: “I love you for who you are.”
Shyre's Instagram bio says she's a registered nutritionist/dietitian, fitness instructor, and a proud Davaoeño.
She did not disclose, however, how she met Jake.
Last April, it was reported that Jake and live-in partner Alyssa Quijano broke up after being in a relationship for four years.
He was still known then as Charice Pempengco, or simply, Charice.
On June 19, he changed his screen name to Jake Zyrus, a month after his breakup with Alyssa.
He later admitted he had undergone a breast removal surgery last March and has been taking testosterone shots every three months.
