Matteo Guidicelli made it clear that he does not get jealous when girlfriend Sarah Geronimo works with actors she was romantically linked to in the past, like John Lloyd Cruz and Gerald Anderson.
“I’m the luckiest in the world. I’m very lucky because I found a woman I can really trust, and I can really believe in and really trust, and that’s the most important,” said the 27-year-old Filipino-Italian singer-actor.
Last July, Sarah, 29, had a reunion movie with John Lloyd, the box-office hit Finally Found Someone.
Before this, Sarah and John Lloyd starred in a trilogy: A Very Special Love (2008), You Changed My Life (2009), and It Takes A Man and A Woman (2013). All were blockbusters.
Somewhere in the course of doing these films, the two were romantically linked.
However, Sarah and John Lloyd never fell into a serious relationship.
Matteo was teased about getting jealous when Sarah revealed that, during the promotion period of Finally Found Someone, she used to have a huge crush on John Lloyd.
“Walang problema,” he quickly replied.
Matteo explained, “In showbiz kasi, the line between jealousy and all this is very, very thin.
“It’s still work at the end of the day.
"And you gotta be professional as actors and actresses also.
"You have to see it in a professional light.”
Moreover, Matteo said that his girlfriend did not hide this fact from him.
“Sarah is very honest with me.”
He added, "I was actually very happy that they were together."
Matteo also revealed that he watched the film with Sarah.
Asked what makes their relationship work, he replied, "We keep everything separate.
"It’s the first step to everything. Makes things easier if we keep things separate talaga.
"Kasi if we didn’t, everything gets mixed up in between.
“Secondly, we just keep work and relationship two different things.
"Two different things we shouldn’t mix up.
“Kasi, if we do, that’s when all the problems start.
"So, we keep it separate.”
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) spoke to Matteo at the press conference of his upcoming concert, Hey Matteo, which will be staged on November 30, at the Kia Theatre.
