Rhian Ramos said her relationship with non-showbiz boyfriend Jason Choachuy is going strong for two years, but getting married is far from her mind at this time.
The Kapuso actress explained, “It’s just strange.
"When I was a kid, I was such in a hurry to grow up and do all the things that we adults are doing.
“Now, I just wanna go back. I just wanna retreat.
“Honestly, the concept of settling down scares me.
“When I think about that, it’s not like, ‘Oh my gosh! That’s my dream also.’
“Parang I freak out when I’m thinking about it for myself.”
Speaking to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), the 27-year-old Rhian made a list of the things that go through her head when she thinks about the concept of marriage.
“First of all, love is not all rainbows and butterflies and fairy tales.
“So, I’m just thinking about, like, in a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship, that takes effort and pain.
“Paano pa kaya yung marriage?
“And when all the other things come along when you guys aren’t that good looking anymore. You know what I mean?
"You have kids na… hindi na kayo masyado mysterious sa isa’t isa.
“Nakikita niyo na nagbabanyo yung isa’t isa, yung mga ganun.
"It’s a lot of work and you have to choose it every single day.”
PEP.ph was able to interview Rhian after an intimate presscon for GMA Network’s still-untitled primetime series that she is co-headlining with Lovi Poe and Max Collins.
The presscon for the series, currently known as #KuwentuhangEx, was held at GMA Network Center last September 21.
It’s all about timing for Rhian, who credits her boyfriend for being supportive of whatever that makes her happy.
She went on to say that Jason doesn't get jealous easily.
“Hindi ko nga na-realize before, pero in order for me to have a healthy relationship, the guy has to be so confident with himself.
“Because I’m being partnered with guys all the time and I’m required to get to know them a little better.
“And these guys aren’t bad-looking, right?
“Just for my boyfriend to be so secure and so supportive and he’s, like, ‘Go do your thing.’
“I’m lucky to have found that, especially for someone na non-showbiz, for him to understand so well.”
