“If it happens, it will be God’s will,” Kris Aquino told PEP. ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) about Willie Revillame stepping in to help her return to television.
Willie is the TV host and co-producer of Wowowin, a daily variety show aired on the GMA Network.
According to Kris, it was Willie’s initiative to broker a deal for her TV comeback.
“You know, I super appreciate him," she said in an interview with PEP.ph.
“I appreciate him for trying, but ultimately, he's a co-producer.
"I can only say… At sinabi ko ‘to sa kanya, 'Wala ka ever napakinabangan sa pamilya ko. And yet, ginusto mo akong tulungan.'
“So, super grateful ako sa kanya.”
PEP spoke with Kris right after her video shoot for Claritin, at her Quezon City home, last Friday, October 20.
WILLIE'S EFFORT. It was on August 24 when Kris posted on Instagram a picture of her five-hour meeting with Willie, whom she called her "future boss."
The following day, August 25, Willie confirmed his talk with the GMA-7 bosses on behalf of Kris.
“Tutulungan ko siya," the 56-year-old Wowowin host told PEP.ph in a separate interview.
"Tutulungan ko talaga siya, hindi dahil sa anupaman.
"Dahil mahal ko siya... wala siyang mean bone sa katawan.
“At alam ko, pareho lang kami na misinterpreted.
“Pareho lang naman kaming dalawa niyan, e.
"Pero pinapanood, inaabangan, nagre-rate.
“Yun naman ang importante, di ba?”
CAREER ROADBLOCKS. Kris was an exclusive artist of ABS-CBN until her last contract expired on March 23, 2016.
After six months, on September 11 that year, Kris announced she was leaving her home network of 20 years.
Since then, the 46-year-old TV host and actress reportedly went through several negotiations for TV projects.
Nothing has materialized to date, and this has apparently burst her bubble.
Kris has been vocal about having self-esteem issues because of those career roadblocks.
