Nelda Ibe hailed as Miss Globe 2017 first runner up

Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2017 Nelda Ina won first runner up in Miss Globe 2017 beauty pageant held in Tirana, Albania, on Friday night, November 3 (Saturday morning, November 4, Manila time).

Nelda and Do Tran Khanh Ngan of Vietnam were the last two candidates on stage moments before the announcement of this year’s winner.

The 23-year-old pilot/beauty queen looked gracious when it was finally announced that Vietnam’s bet won the crown.

Elena Latypova of Siberia won second runner up, Alessia Çoku of Albania was third runner up, and Simone Heijligers of Cape Verde was fourth runner up.

In her latest Instagram post, Nelda wrote that it was a honor for her to represent Philippines in an international competition.

In an official statement, Binibining Pilipinas Chair Stella Araneta congratulated Nelda for showing "grace and elegance befitting a proud Filipina."

Earlier, Nelda slammed malicious reports stating that she got eliminated during the talent portion due to her alleged lip-sync performance.
Her official statement, posted on her Instagram story, read: "I wasn't present during the announcement of the winners during the talent show ( that's why everyone is making rumors that I was eliminated) kasi dinala na po ako sa hospital right after I performed.
"Yes, I wasn't feeling well but still I want to show up and the organizers know that.”
