Sandy Andolong on daughter Mariel de Leon's failed Miss International bid: "Walang nawala sa kanya. She gained more than she lost. She gained a lot from this experience. Yung pagkatalo niya does not affect her at all."

“Ang kay Mariel, nasabi na niya ang dapat niyang masabi, and she doesn’t want to talk about it anymore.”

Ayon kay Sandy, “Ako, bilang mother, I’m proud of Mariel because of how well she took it. Haping-happy siya.

“Ang pagkasabi nga sa akin ng anak ko, no amount of money can pay what she experienced in Japan.

“She gained a lot of friends. She became more mature.

“Happy siya with everything that has happened in Japan.

“She does not question yung nangyari. Tanggap niya wholeheartedly.

“Walang nawala sa kanya. She gained more than she lost.

“She gained a lot from this experience.

“Yung pagkatalo niya does not affect her at all.”

Diin pa ng misis ni Christopher de Leon, “I’m proud of Mariel and I’m happy for her.”

SADDENED BY BASHERS.

“Sabi niya, ‘Nanay, this experience, you cannot buy it. No amount of money can buy it.’

“Sabi pa niya, ‘And I made a lot of friends all over the world, and they’re all inviting me to come to their country.’”

BACKSTAGE. I’m not a competitive person at all. So I don’t get why there are girls that take it way too seriously. Some can be rude and inconsiderate to others. I’m thankful that this batch of girls are all very kind and sweet. There were no fights or ill feelings between any of the girls. Pageants are not mainly about winning. It’s about the relationships we make with girls from around the world. It’s about sharing each other’s stories and cultures. It’s about helping each other and showing the world great examples of strong and empowered women from each country. It’s about showing unity with one another and sharing love & respect between different people from different walks of life. All women are Wonder Women! Except me because I love Cat Woman haha. Love to all you strong and genuine pageant women out there! ??

Dagdag pang pahayag ni Sandy, “Si Mariel, walang problem. She’s taking it well.

“I still believe that God has better plans for my daughter."
