Broadway superstar Lea Salonga, 46, announced on Instagram that her former leading man Aga Muhlach, 48, came to see her in Manhattan, New York.
Today, December 20, Lea showed a photo of her meetup with Aga at the Gyu Kaku Japanese Restaurant.
Her short but sweet caption was: “Yup. This happened. Thanks for visiting the island, @agamuhlach317!”
Last June, the story of their romantic past went viral as fans reposted Aga’s “confession” that he considers Lea as The One That Got Away (TOTGA).
This was based on Lea’s 2013 self-titled book Lea Salonga Playlist: A Celebration of 35 years, which contained Aga's “love letter” dedicated to her.
The first line read, “Lea was the one that got away. And she never knew.”
According to Aga, he never had the chance to tell Lea how much he loves her when they worked together in their hit movies Bakit Labis Kitang Mahal (1992) and Sana Maulit Muli (1995).
His love letter further read: “It was a lifetime ago, I was a young man on fire with passion, as all young men of a certain age are. I wooed fair ladies, and dreamed of shaping the world.
“And, to me, Lea was Sandy - ethereal, aloof, unattainable; my heart's very desire.
“Lea was Agnes - vulnerable yet remote, kind yet callous, constantly engaged in a battle of wills.
“And I loved Agnes and Sandy and Lea in equal measure.”
Below are some netizens expressing their kilig over Lea and Aga's reunion:
Lea is currently in New York working on her latest stint in Broadway’s revival of Once On This Island.
It tells the story of how a peasant girl, Ti Moune, falls in love with a grand homme, Daniel Beauxhomme, from the other side of the island.
Lea, for her part, plays the goddess of love that will help bring Ti Moune and Daniel together.
