Regine Velasquez on kilig moments with husband Ogie Alcasid: "Sometimes he'll text me out of nowhere. Sasabihin niya sa akin, 'Can I date you?' And then, I'll answer, 'I'll ask my parents.' Hahaha! Strict ang parents. But, really, we do that."

Regine Velasquez, 47, was happy to say that her husband Ogie Alcasid, 50, is immune to the seven-year itch.

The seven-year itch, according to the Cambridge dictionary, refers to a state where a person feels unhappy after seven years of marriage and becomes vulnerable to extramarital affairs.

Regine and Ogie just celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary on December 22, 2017.

Joking, Regine blurted out, “Tapos na yung seven-year itch niya!”

What is the key to their strong and happy marriage?

Regine told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), “A relationship needs work.

“You have to find out kung ano ba yung naiiba sa kanya o kung ano pa yung puwede mong malaman.

"Kaya paminsan-minsan, nagpapaano pa rin ako, nagpapa-mysterious.”

The Asia’s Songbird went on to say that the “kilig” shouldn’t stop between couples.

“Ganun yun, kasi ang pangit naman kung tuwing Valentine’s lang nagpapakilig.

"So, pinapakilig niya ako every day, out of nowhere, he’ll give me flowers or some random gift.

"Kahit walang okasyon, he does that to me. And I also do that.

“Sometimes he’ll text me out of nowhere. Sasabihin niya sa akin, ‘Can I date you?’

"And then I’ll answer, ‘I’ll ask my parents.’

“Hahaha! Strict ang parents. But, really, we do that.”

According to Regine, as much as they enjoy doting on their six-year-old son Nate, she and Ogie make it a point to spend quality time with just the two of them.

She said, “If we have time, we always watch a movie.

“Itong birthday ko, we’re going to Boracay, kasi gusto niya kaming dalawa lang.

"May mga ganun kami, kahit anong relationship, we work at it to be successful.

“Hindi porke't mag-asawa na kayo, that’s it.

"And then, iisipin mo na lang kung anong gimik mo this Valentine.

“So, kami ng asawa ko, it's every day.”

Regine and Ogie spoke to PEP and other entertainment reporters at the presscon of #paMORE, a Valentine concert headlined by the couple with Martin Nievera and Erik Santos.

The presscon was held at the Seda Hotel in Quezon City earlier today, January 8.

SECRET OF SUCCESSFUL MARRIAGE. Ogie drew laughter from members of the press as well as from fellow stars with his answer to the secret to marital bliss.

He said, “You know, kasi ang lalaki, hindi naman usually kinikilig, di ba?

“Kasi ang lalaki, nata-touch or naho-horny.”

Amidst the laughter among the crowd in the venue, Ogie quickly backtracked, “Sorry! Sorry!”

(In an earlier interview with PEP.ph, Ogie made it clear that he recommends sexual intimacy only between married couples.)

Continuing, he said, "Kasi yung love language namin as husband and wife, magkaiba.

"Hers is... it’s the little things that she does.

"Halimbawa, 'Binilhan kita ng after-shave' or 'Binilhan kita ng maraming-maraming toothpaste.'

"Mga maliliit na bagay that you need and you don’t have to think about anymore.

"They think we don’t appreciate that, but we do.

"It’s the little things that they do na nata-touch kami.

"Ang love language ko sa kanya, talagang malambing ako.

"Ma-touch. Sometimes I sing to her."

Regine interjected that her husband also delights in making her laugh and writing her love letters.

"Siya kasi, lagi niya ako pinapatawa," Regine said. "Pag hindi niya ako napatawa sa isang araw, parang may mali.

"So, now, my son is doing the same thing. He would make up jokes or funny faces.

"Nate would ask me, 'Is that funny, Mommy?' Tapos sasabihin niya, 'At least, I made you laugh!'

"Influence rin kasi yun ng tatay niya."
