The weather cooperated and the sky was clear for a lunar spectacle that occurred between 9 and 10, Wednesday evening, January 31.
According to NASA's website, "[Tonight] is the third in a series of 'supermoons,' when the Moon is closer to Earth in its orbit-- known as perigee--and about 14 percent brighter than usual.
"It’s also the second full moon of the month, commonly known as a 'blue moon.'
"The super blue moon will pass through Earth’s shadow to give viewers in the right location a total lunar eclipse.
"While the Moon is in the Earth’s shadow it will take on a reddish tint, known as a 'blood moon.'"
Like many Pinoys, celebrities went out of their house to witness this very rare lunar trifecta called "super blue blood moon."
Some shared in their social media accounts the photos they took of the lunar show.
The Agoncillos, Ryan and Judy Ann, even set up a bonfire in their yard for the celestial event.
