Kris Aquino maintained that she’s smart enough to determine the people she can call her true friends even during the lowest point of her life.
She gave this statement in response to a netizen warning her to be careful about “balimbing” friends once she makes a showbiz comeback.
In the comments thread of her Instagram, a netizen wrote: “nako lalabas na ung mga balimbing mong friends kuno Miss @krisaquino."
"kaya this time ingat ingat din pag may time and treasure mo ung mga taong ksama mo nung nasa lowest point ka ng career mo.”
Kris replied, “@mmaamaslove please don't underestimate my inteligence?”
COMEBACK PROJECT. This exchange of messages came after the 47-year-old TV host-actress announced via Instagram that “complicated negotiations” for her impending comeback project has been given the green light.
While Kris did not mention details about it, she alluded that she feels at “home” with the “production team” that she’s going to work with.
Her Instagram caption, posted last night, April 16, partly read: “now in Tokyo, i got the all systems GO confirmation...and this Friday... may nininerbyos na magbabalik... #home #family #lovelovelove ♥?♥?♥?”
i needed to prove myself, on my own... i needed for them to be the ones to reach out... and somehow the TIMING & the PEOPLE who did the admittedly complicated negotiations had the right chemistry... i love the project & have so much respect for the production team... in San Francisco i prayed for God to guide all of us in the right direction, in what would be best for all of us... now in Tokyo, i got the all systems GO confirmation...and this Friday... may nininerbyos na magbabalik... #home #family #lovelovelove ♥?♥?♥?
In the comments section of her post, Kris further wrote that she doesn’t feel “bitter” despite the setbacks that she experienced in her showbiz career since mid-2016.
A netizen with the Instagram handle @ooyob2015 told Kris: “They will pick u up kasi mavango ka na uli hahhaha.
“eh tinapon ka na nga di ba? nung uncertain they dont even bother to offer you somethong but now u jave proven yourself sila ang nag reach out.. hahahha. kaloka.”
Kris replied: “@ooyob2015 but see i've learned- life is too short to be bitter.
“And that is the whole point- i proved myself on my own.
“So i'm going back to a project that was exciting because i dont have to do it but i want to do it.
“life lesson-stay humble or the world will do it for you.”
ON CAREER SETBACKS. It should be noted that her contract with ABS-CBN, her former home network for 20 years, expired on March 23, 2016.
Her last daily hosting stint was for Kapamilya network's morning talk show Kris TV, which concluded in April 2016.
Since then, the TV host-actress has encountered career roadblocks in several negotiations for her supposed TV comeback.
