Hashtags member Vitto Marquez said he is clueless about the video scandal of Kapuso actor Mark Herras, boyfriend of his sister Teresita Ssen “Winwyn” Marquez.
Vitto and Teresita are the children of showbiz veterans Joey Marquez and Alma Moreno.
“Meron ba? Hindi ko alam, e. Ngayon ko lang po nalaman, actually,” Vitto said at the press conference of his upcoming movie Squad Goals, which took place at the VIVA Office in Ortigas Center, Pasig City, Monday, April 23.
In a separate interview, Mark owned up to the video scandal.
The GMA-7 actor explained that he was clueless about the resurfacing of his video that first came out 12 years ago.
Vitto said that he and sister Teresita have not talked about the issue.
“I think hindi naman kailangang pag-usapan, kasi I think Ate is old enough to handle it.
“Kung hindi naman niya kaya, siyempre tatawagan niya mga kapatid niya, pamilya [niya],” he explained.
Vitto believes that people should give celebrities some slack if they commit mistakes.
“Naniniwala po kasi ako na ang mga artista, mga tao din lang po ‘yan, and siguro nagagamit ang mga ganito laban sa kanila dahil pubic figure na sila ngayon,” he specified.
Vitto added, “Twelve years ago, matagal na.
“I mean, bakit ibabalik pa, di ba?
“They have their own things na kailangan [sa kanila lang]. May mga privacy din naman ‘yan.”
HANDLING CONTROVERSIES. Since he is now trying his luck in showbiz, what was his parents’ advice to him on how to handle controversies?
“Mga intriga, you can never avoid them,” Vitto replied.
“Dapat alam mo sa sarili mo kung ano yung tama.
“Laging sinasabi [ng parents ko] kung ano yung tama and believe in yourself.
“Kasi maraming puwedeng sabihin ang tao, pero nasa sa iyo na yun kung masasaktan ka.
“And keep smiling,” he added.
Squad Goals, which also stars Andrew Muhlach (Aga Muhlach’s brother), Jack Reid (James Reid’s brother), Dan Huschka, and Julian Trono, opens in cinemas on May 9.
