Kapuso actor David Licauco recalls breakup with an ABS-CBN actress whose identity he refused to reveal: "Sobrang umiyak ako nun. Pero siyempre once na-accept mo naman na yung fact kung bakit wala na... okey ka na."

David Licauco admitted that he used to be in a relationship with an ABS-CBN actress, but he refused to reveal her identity.

The 22-year-old Kapuso actor said that he and the young actress broke up because she has a love team and couldn’t make their relationship known to the public.

Their secret romance went on for “years” before they called it quits last year.

“Taga-ABS siya. So di ko siya kaya.

"Wala, it’s hard. May love team,” David said in a matter-of-fact manner.

He added, "Siyempre, at the time, hindi pa ako artista, hindi pa marunong i-handle. Pero siguro now, okey lang."

Asked to give a clue about his ex-girlfriend, David replied with a laugh, "Super secret!"

PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) had an exclusive interview with David after the presscon of GMA-7’s newest daytime soap, Kapag Nahati Ang Puso, where he is cast as the best friend of Bea Binene.

The presscon was held at the 17th floor of GMA Network Center in Quezon City last Friday, July 6.

He went on to say that he is the type who gives his “100 percent” even when it comes to love.

He admitted, “Sobrang umiyak ako nun. Pero siyempre once na-accept mo naman na yung fact kung bakit wala na...

“Ganun naman yun, e.

"Meron akong nakitang quote, sabi, ‘It’s not about moving on, it’s about acceptance.’

"Kapag na-accept mo na, okey ka na.”

Is he single at the moment?

David replied, “I’m single, yeah. I wanna focus first on my career.

A former basketball varsity player, David finished Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems major in Computer Application from De La Salle College of St. Benilde.

He became an exclusive Kapuso artist in 2016 and appeared in the 2017 Kapuso fantaserye Mulawin vs. Ravena.

For his first major role, he is paired with Shaira Diaz in the upcoming romantic-comedy film, Because I Love You, directed by Joel Lamangan.
