Anne Curtis calls on senators who oppose LGBTQ anti-discrimination bill

Nanawagan si Anne Curtis sa mga senador na kontra sa pag-apruba ng panukalang batas na naglalayong protektahan mula sa diskriminasyon ang mga miyembro ng LGBTQIA (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual) community.

Sa pamamagitan ng kanyang Instagram Story, ibinahagi ng It’s Showtime host ang kanyang panawagan, gayundin ang ilang impormasyon tungkol sa SOGIE (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression) Equality Bill, o kilala rin bilang Anti-Discrimination Bill.

Ginawa ni Anne ang post nitong Martes, July 24.

Ayon sa impormasyon sa post ni Anne, ang panukalang batas ay inaprubahan na ng Mababang Kapulungan at ang susunod na hakbang ay mapabilang ito sa agenda ng Senado.

Gayunpaman, may mga senador na kuuokontra sa panukala, kabilang sina Senate President Tito Sotto, Senators Manny Pacquiao at Joel Villanueva.

ANNE’S CALL FOR EQUALITY. Isang mahabang mensahe ang ipinaabot ni Anne para sa mga senador na hindi pumapabor sa Anti-Discrimination Bill.

Pahayag ng actress-TV host, “My whole team—people I love and spend every day with, are members of the LGBTQIA Community.

“There’s nothing more I want for them than to have equal rights as citizens of this country.

“And to live a life that is free of discrimination and they can express themselves freely knowing that they are loved and protected by the country they call home.”

Naka-tag sa post na ito ng 33-anyos na aktres ang tatlong kumukontrang senador.

“Wouldn’t you agree? @helenstito @mannypacquiao @joelvillanueva”

Dagdag pa ni Anne: “I’m sure you have friends or members of your own team that are part of the LGBTQIA community that love and support you. Now is the time to stand with them and give back that same love!

Bukod sa malabanan ang discrimination, layon ng Anti-Discrimination Bill na mabigyan ng access ang mga miyembro ng LGBTQIA sa health services, employment, at edukasyon.
