Lea Salonga takes to social media to express her support for transgenders and hopes that same-sex marriage be legalized in the country.

Ipinahayag ni Lea Salonga ang kanyang pagsuporta sa mga transgender at pagnanais na magkaroon ng same-sex marriage sa bansa

Ibinahagi ito ng Pinay international star sa pamamagitan ng kanyang social media accounts—Instagram, Twitter, at Facebook—nitong Miyerkules, October 24.

Si Lea ay vocal supporter ng mga miyembro ng LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) community.

Sa Google Dictionary, ang transgender ay tumutukoy sa mga tao na ang kanilang “sense of personal identity and gender does not correspond with their birth sex.”

Sa kanyang Instagram account, nag-post ang 47-anyos na singer-actress ng quote card na “Trans rights are human rights.”

Nag-post din siya tungkol sa “transphobia.”

Nag-tweet din ang Broadway star ng pagpabor sa same-sex marriage.

“I often wonder if I’ll ever see same sex marriage legalized in my country in my lifetime. May pag-asa pa kaya? Hmmm...”

May netizen na nagkomento at nagpahayag ng pagkontra sa same-sex marriage at hindi nito pagsang-ayon sa pagpilit sa Simbahan para payagan ang same-sex marriage.

Sagot dito ni Lea, “Oh, I was speaking secular only. Not religious. Hence the term ‘legalized.’’
