Coco Martin is deeply saddened by the death of indie actor Kristofer King.

The ABS-CBN actor posted a set photo from the 2008 Brillante Mendoza film Serbis—one of the indie films that he and Kristofer co-starred in—on his Instagram.

Its caption simply had three sad face emojis.

Coco and Kristofer also co-starred in a number of Brillante Mendoza films, including the 2005 film Masahista.

In Serbis, they worked alongside seasoned actresses Jaclyn Jose and Gina Pareño (both in black shirts) and indie actress Mercedes Cabral (gray and black top).

Kristofer, who was known as Christopher Reyes in real life, died on Saturday, February 23, at the Adventist Medical Center Manila.

Earlier in the day, the actor was rushed to the hospital's intensive care unit (ICU).

Kristofer's close friends and colleagues took to social media to ask for financial help.

Sadly, Kristofer passed away that same evening.

Direk Brillante was among the first to lament his passing on social media.

He wrote, "You will always be my best actor. I will miss u King."

Among Kristofer's memorable TV projects was a brief stint in Coco's long-running, Kapamilya prime-time show, Ang Probinsyano.
