Isinilang ng asawa ni Song Joong Ki na si Katy Louise Saunders ang kanilang panganay na anak, isang healthy baby boy, sa hometown mismo ni Katy sa Rome, Italy.

Mismong si Song Joong Ki ang nag-anunsiyo nito sa pamamagitan ng isang liham na ipinost sa official fancafe niya, kalakip ang isang larawan kung saan hawak-hawak ng kanyang bagong silang na anak ang daliri ng aktor.
