104-year-old woman dies a week after record-breaking skydive

Guinness World Records has yet to make her feat official.

Chicago resident Dorothy Hoffner broke a record last October 1, 2023 when she did a tandem skydive at the age of 104.

Hindi na nahintay ng 104-year-old na si Dorothy Hoffner, taga-Chicago, U.S.A., ang verification ng Guinness World Records kung siya nga ba ang pinakamatandang taong gumawa ng tandem skydive.

Noong October 1, 2023 , mag-participate siya sa sa Skydive Chicago kasama ang isang professional skydiver.

Tumalon si Dorothy habang nasa 10,000 feet sa himpapawirin, at nagkaroon ng safe landing, ayon sa reports.

Pero pagkatapos ng isang linggo, pumanaw siya habang natutulog, sabi ng officials sa Brookdale Senior Living Center.

Nang ma-interview ng NBC Chicago si Dorothy tungkol sa ginawa niyang skydive, sinabi niya, "Skydiving is a wonderful experience, and it’s nothing to be afraid of. Just do it.”

Nasa verification process pa ng Guinness ang jump ni Dorothy.

Ang current world record holder ay naitala ni Linnéa Ingegärd Larsson ng Sweden noong May 2022. Siya ay 103 years 259 days old at the time of her jump.

Maaaring matagalan pa bago mabigyan ng posthumous recognition si Dorothy.

Isinilang siya noong December 17, 1918, na ibig sabihin ay naabutan pa niya ang World War II.
