Isang 13 anyos na batang Pinay ang naulila sa Perth, Australia, matapos malunod ang kanyang mga magulang during a fishing activity sa timog na bahagi ng siyudad ng Mandurah.

Natagpuan ng mga awtoridad ang mga labi ng mag-asawang Pilipino—sina Jon Ballo, 50, at Leslie, 49—tanghali ng Huwebes, March 14, 2024.

Nang hindi makabalik ang mag-asawa mula sa kanilang fishing trip noong March 13, 2024, nagsimulang mag-alala ang kaibigan nilang si Mirasol Armada.

Ayon sa interview ng Nine Perth News, nabahala siya nang di umuwi ang mag-asawa kaya tumawag siya ng pulis.

Natagpuan ng mga awtoridad ang sasakyan nina Jon at Leslie sa Herron Point campsite site.

Malaking dagok ito para sa kanilang mga magulang na nagbabakasyon sa Perth nang mangyari ang insidente, ayon sa website ng Western Australia Today, March 16.

Nangyari pa ang trahedya matapos ipagdiwang ng mag-asawa ang kanilang 24th wedding anniversary at nagkaroon pa ng renewal of vows.

A FAMILY FRIEND DESCRIBES VICTIMS AS A “GOLDEN COUPLE”

Pinagpaplanuhan ngayon ng pamilya, mga kaibigan, at New Life Filipino-Australian Community Church para maayos na maalagaan ang naiwang anak na babae ng mag-asawa.

“I know how much they loved their daughter, and we will do the same,” sabi ni Mirasol Armada.

Paglalarawan niya sa mag-asawa, “They really were a golden couple, and we will cherish them in our hearts.

“I wish this a nightmare… and I wish one day they would show up,” sabi ni Mirasol.

Sabi naman ng mga locals sa lugar ng pinangyarihan ng aksidente, bagamat “shallow and safe” ang lugar, nagkakaroon daw ng “sudden changes in depth which could be treacherous.”
