Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere has revealed the end of her relationship with her
fiancé, French-Moroccan businessman Diego El Glaoui.
Taking to Instagram on Saturday, May 11, 2024, the ex-beauty queen shared a poignant black and white photo of them alongside the announcement.
In her caption, the French model expressed, as translated in English, "It is with great kindness and respect that we have to announce to you that Diego and I have decided to take different paths.
"After more than 4 years of love, life separated us, but we will always keep within us all the beautiful adventures we lived and shared.
"We ask you to respect this decision, and to welcome it with as much kindness as we have for each other.
"Even if our paths separate today, we will always support each other and be there for each other every step of our lives. I wish you the best on earth."
Iris and Diego's relationship began sometime in late 2019.
By August 2022, Iris announced her engagement to the French-Moroccan businessman through an Instagram post, marking three years together.
The couple got engaged at Lake Como in Italy.
In the caption of her Instagram post, Iris shared, "YES!!! [emojis] It's on the shores of Lake Como that we told each other it would be for life."

Though once inseparable, recent months have seen rumors of their separation circulating.
Despite this, they consistently quelled the gossip by sharing photos of themselves on social media.
Towards the end of February 2024, amidst renewed speculations of their split, they surprised internet users by appearing together at the premiere of their Prime Video mini-series Influence(s).
In April 2024, the couple's rumored breakup made headlines again after Iris vacationed in Saint-Barthélemy without Diego, later reuniting with him for a week of work at her influence agency in South Korea.
Subsequently, the former beauty queen returned to Paris, while he headed back to Dubai.
