Bittersweet para sa Italian Olympic high jumper na si Gianmarco Tamberi ang opening ceremony ng Paris Olympics 2024.
Nawala kasi ang kanyang wedding ring.
Ginanap ang opening ceremony sa pamamagitan ng parada ng athletes per country, sakay ng boats sa Seine River noong July 26, 2024.
Kinabukasan, July 27, isang mahabang Instagram post ang inilabas ng atleta para ipaalam sa misis at sa buong mundo na nawala ang kanyang wedding ring dahil nahulog ito sa river.
Si Gianmarco, 32, ay two years nang kasal sa asawa niyang si Chiara Bontempi Tamberi, 29.

Olympic athlete offers POSSIBLE REASONS
Nakapukaw ng atensiyon ng netizens ang post ni Gianmarco dahil bukod sa positibo niya tiningnan ang insidente, “poetic” ang pagkakakuwento niya sa pangyayari.
Sa wikang Italian, humingi ng paumanhin ang Olympic athlete sa kanyang asawa.
Simula ni Gianmarco (translated into English): “I'm sorry my love, I'm terribly sorry."
Nagbigay siya ng mga posibleng mga dahilan kung paano ito nangyari.

“But unfortunately the bounce was in the wrong direction and floating more than a thousand times in the air I saw it dive into the water as if that was the only place it wanted to be.”
Pakiramdam daw niya ay parang walang hanggan ang sandaling iyon.
“It will remain forever in the riverbed of the city of love, flown away while I was trying to carry the Italian tricolor as high as possible during the opening ceremony of the most important sporting event in the world.”
May iminungkahi pa siya sa asawa, “I think there could be a huge poetic side behind yesterday's misdeed and if you want we will throw yours into that river too so that they will be together forever and we will have one more excuse to, as you have always asked me, renew our promises and get married again.”

Muling ipinahayag ni Gianmarco ang pagmamahal sa asawa at nawa’y maging senyales daw ito na may iuuwi siyang ginto (as in gold medal) sa kanyang pag-uwi sa Italy.
