Suspected robber enters house, reads a book; gets caught

A suspected burglar in Italy broke into a house, found a book, and became so engrossed in reading it that he was caught by the homeowner, who then called the police.

Napurnada ang pagnanakaw ng isang suspek, at nahuli pa siya ng mga pulis.

Ang dahilan: may nakita siyang libro sa bahay at binasa ito.

Ayon sa ulat ng Il Messaggero, isang Italian news daily, tila mahilig sa Greek mythology ang suspek dahil nakalimutan nito ang kanyang pakay na magnakaw.

Tuloy, nabisto siya ng may-ari at pinahuli sa pulis.

Ang suspek, 38 anyos, ay pumasok sa isang apartment sa Prati district sa Rome sa pamamagitan ng balcony.

Pero na-distract siya ng libro na nasa lamesa sa loob ng kuwarto.

Tungkol ito sa Iliad, ang poem na isinulat nGreek ancient poet na si Homer.

Ang pamagat ay The Gods of Six O’Clock, na isinulat ng Italian author na si Giovanni Nucci.

Nagising mula sa mga kaluskos ang 71 anyos na homeowner at nabisto ang suspek na tutok sa pagbabasa ng libro.

Nagtangkang tumakas ng suspek sa balcony, kung saan siya pumasok, pero napigilan siya ng homeowner.

Di nagtagal ay dumating ang mga pulis at nahuli ang salarin.

BOOK AUTHOR WANTS TO SEND BOOK COPY TO SUSPECT

Nagbigay naman ng reaksiyon ang book author kaugnay ng insidente.

Nais daw niyang bigyan ng kopya ng kanyang libro ang suspek para matapos niya itong basahin.

Sabi ni Nucci sa interview ng Il Messaggero: "It's fantastic. I'd like to find the person caught red-handed and give him the book because he was likely arrested halfway through reading it.

“I'd like him to be able to finish it. It's a surreal story, but also full of humanity."

Nakuha pang iugnay ng author ang suspek sa kanyang Greek mythology book.

Ani Nucci, ang kanyang paboritong Greek god ay si Hermes, ang god of thieves.

Sa kabilang banda, na-recover din mula sa suspek ang isang bag na naglalaman ng mga mamahaling damit na umano’y ninakaw mula sa isa pang bahay noong gabi ring iyon.
