Park Jin Young, more popularly known as JYP, is stepping down from his position as an internal director of JYP Entertainment.
In an announcement on March 10, 2026, the company confirmed that Park Jin Young will resign from his post as internal director.
According to the agency, during the shareholders’ meeting scheduled for March 26, he will no longer undergo the process for reappointment to the board.
However, JYP Entertainment clarified that JYP will remain actively involved in the company’s creative direction despite stepping down from the position.
Following his resignation, JYP plans to focus more on his creative work as an artist and producer. This includes mentoring and developing junior artists, as well as exploring new external initiatives aimed at expanding the global reach of the K-pop industry.
Aside from this, Park Jin Young also serves as co-chairman of South Korea’s Presidential Committee on Cultural Exchange, which aims to strengthen the country’s cultural cooperation with other parts of the world.

WHO IS JYP?
JYP is the founder of JYP Entertainment and is considered one of the most influential figures in the K-pop industry.
Under his leadership and creative direction, several global K-pop acts rose to fame, including Wonder Girls, 2PM, Miss A, GOT7, TWICE, Stray Kids, ITZY, and NMIXX.
Aside from being a music executive, JYP is also active as a performer and songwriter, continuing to work on music projects while guiding the next generation of K-pop artists.
He is also widely recognized as a singer and composer.
JYP debuted as a solo artist in 1994 and became known for hit songs such as "Don’t Leave Me," "Honey," and "Who’s Your Mama?".
Over the years, he has written and produced numerous K-pop hits for artists under JYP Entertainment.
Among the well-known songs he composed or produced are "Nobody" by Wonder Girls and "What Is Love?" by TWICE.
