Nakasaad dito: "It is with immense sadness that the whanau of Sam Neill share the news of his passing on Monday 13th July, in Sydney Australia. Sam was surrounded by family and passed with the dignity that has characterised his whole life.
"The loss was sudden and unexpected but blessed by the fact that Sam remained cancer free. They would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at St Vincent’s Private Hospital for their incredible care.
"More details will be shared later, but for now, on behalf of the family, we ask that you respect their privacy as they navigate this immeasurable loss."
Hindi tinukoy ng pamilya ang sanhi ng pagkamatay ni Sam.
Ngunit kamakailan lamang ay sinabi ng aktor na siya ay cancer-free na matapos ma-diagnose na may stage three angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma, isang klase ng blood cancer, noong 2022.

SAM NEILL'S ACTING CAREER
Si Sam, Nigel John Dermot Neill isa tunay na buhay, ay ipinanganak sa Omagh, Northern Ireland, nong 1947.
Ang kanyang ina ay English at ang kanyang ama ay New Zelander na nagsilbi sa British army.
Nagsimula ang acting career ni Sam noong 1975, ngunit ang kanyang first breakout role ay ang 1977 film na Sleeping Dogs, ang kauna-unahang pelikula ng New Zealand na ipinalabas sa Amerika.
