Dalawang doktor ang sinampahan ng kaso kaugnay ng pagkamatay ng popular Greek singer na si Giorgos Mazonakis.
Binawian ng buhay ang 54-year-old singer dahil sa atake sa puso habang sumasailalim sa plasmapheresis.
Ang plasmapheresis ay kontrobersiyal na anti-ageing procedure na nag-aalis ng dugo, inihihiwalay ang liquid plasma sa blood cells, at pinapalitan ang plasma bago ibalik ang dugo sa katawan ng pasyente.
Itinuturing ang plasmapheresis na isang paraan para ibalik ang kabataan.
Pero maaaring maging sanhi ito ng pagbaba ng blood pressure, blood clotting, at impeksyon.

STATEMENT ON GIORGOS MAZONAKIS DEATH
Naglabas ng pahayag si Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis sa social media platform na X tungkol sa imbestigasyon sa pagpanaw ni Mazonakis.
Nakasaad dito: "According to the initial information, Giorgos Mazonakis suffered cardiac arrest at what was supposedly a clinic, during a procedure that has been described as plasmapheresis.
"The precise cause of his death will, of course, be determined through the forensic investigation, as will whether anyone bears responsibility and, if so, who. We must, however, investigate the exact circumstances of the incident.
"In reality, the facility was licensed only as a general medical practice, and a medical procedure of this kind is not permitted to be performed in such a practice.
“In any event, I urge patients to be careful about what they read online and not to put their health at risk under questionable conditions.
"I express my sincere condolences to his family and his thousands of friends.”
