Eat Bulaga! had a throwback mood while It’s Showtime had a Christmas theme during their episodes last Saturday, November 7.
ALDUB AS NORA AND TIRSO. In the November 7 episode of Eat Bulaga!’s “Kalyeserye” segment, Alden Richards and Yaya Dub a.k.a. Maine Mendoza performed together on the Eat Bulaga! stage.
The AlDub love team portrayed '70s popular love team Guy and Pip composed of Superstar Nora Aunor and Tirso Cruz III.
Dressed as Pip, Alden first performed the song “Maria Leonora Theresa” while carrying a doll.
During Guy and Pip’s popularity, they were known to have a “daughter” named Maria Leonora Theresa (MLT). MLT is actually a doll that was treated like a real young girl during that time.
Yaya Dub (who had a trademark facial mole) also dressed and performed like Nora as she sang the Superstar's popular hit “Pearly Shells.”
Afterwards, AlDub performed one of Guy and Pip’s songs, “Together Again.”
They continued doing Dubsmashes while still dressed as Guy and Pip.
Alden also serenaded Yaya Dub with his song “Wish I May,” and gave her three roses. He said that these three roses signify the words “AlDub You.”
He brought out the jewelry box they found in Lola Nidora’s grandmother’s house. He told Yaya Dub: "Ang sabi sa akin, ibigay ko ito sa taong gusto kong makasama habambuhay."
Yaya Dub was very nervous as she exclaimed, "Hindi ako na-orient!"
Unfortunately, the ring was nowhere to be found.
Lola Nidora then freaked out upon knowing that the ring is missing.
SHOWTIME CHRISTMAS KICK-OFF. ABs-CBN's noontime show, It’s Showtime, had its Christmas kick-off last Saturday.
The hosts launched a new segment called “Karoling Galing” where three families battled out and sang Christmas carols. The Villalobo family won and took home the cash prize of P 50,000.
Pop rock singer Kitchie Nadal also joined the madlang taxi drivers while they sing along the singer’s 2004 hit song “Wag na Wag Mong Sasabihin” in the segment “Singing Mo ‘To.”
You’re My Home stars Jessy Mendiola, JC de Vera, and Dawn Zulueta also graced the Kapamilya show.
MEGA MANILA RATINGS. According to AGB Nielsen, #ALDUBPerformsTogether registered a TV rating of 36.5% in Mega Manila.
Meanwhile, #ShowtimeBigBlast got a TV rating of 8.3%.
NATIONWIDE RATINGS. Kantar Media-TNS has yet to release the nationwide ratings for this day.
