GMA-7 Primetime King Dingdong Dantes has started his taping for the requel of Encantadia.
This was revealed by Encantadia director Mark Reyes via his Instagram account yesterday, April 20.
As seen in Direk Mark’s post, he and Dingdong are shooting scenes at the site of the Angono Petroglyphs.
Dingdong also shared a picture in his Instagram account (@dongdantes).
He captioned the post: “Back to where it all began 11 years ago. Avisala!”
It can be remembered that Dingdong was one of the original cast members of the first Encantadia aired in 2005. He played the role of Ybarro/Ybrahim.
In this requel, however, Dingdong is tapped to play the role of Raquim, first portrayed by Richard Gomez.
A day before the taping, Direk Mark also posted a sneak preview of the scene that he would tape with Dingdong.
In the original series, Raquim only appeared in the pilot episode, when he and his child Amihan were living at peace in the mortal world.
However, they decided to go to Encantadia, which is why Raquim battled with the Hathors who ended up killing him.
Last April 18, in a report by GMANetwork.com, Dingdong talked about his physical training for the telefantasya.
He said that there are certain differences compared to the training he underwent 10 years ago for the same show.
"Naalala ko before, yung mga tinuturo, some of the basics.
“But today, marami ring bago. Siguro ganoon talaga if you have not tried it for 10 years, it seems pretty new."
In the series, Dingdong is reunited onscreen with his wife Marian Rivera, who is set to portray Ynang Reyna Mine-a.
