Did you know that hunk actor Jak Roberto also auditioned for Encantadia?
This was revealed by his sister Sanya Lopez to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other entertainment reporters during the July 13 press conference of Encantadia.
In fact, he was supposed to play the role of Aquil, a role first portrayed by Alfred Vargas. However, the new Danaya explained, "Pero hindi naman kami puwede dahil if ever na makuha siya, siya si Aquil.
"So ang awkward naman noon sa aming dalawa! [Kaya] mamimili talaga."
It will be recalled that in Encantadia, Aquil is the love interest of Danaya.
The character Aquil, who is the head soldier of Lireo, is now portrayed by Rocco Nacino.
Sanya said that her older brother is very happy that she bagged the role of Danaya.
The 19-year-old newbie actress said, "Sobrang proud siya sa 'kin. Sabi niya sa akin, 'Nakuha mo yon!'"
For her, it is also okay that her 22-year-old brother did not get the role. "Sabi ko, 'Alam mo maganda rin na magkaroon tayo ng sariling identity.'"
Prior to this series, both Sanya and Jak appeared in the late-night show Walang Tulugan with the Master Showman, hosted by the late TV host and star-builder German Moreno.
During that time, Jak was already a regular performer in the show while Sanya became a mainstay when she was discovered by Kuya Germs after visiting her brother on the set.

The two also worked together in the afternoon series The Half Sisters, where Sanya played Barbie Forteza's best friend Lorna, while Jak played Thea Tolentino's love interest named Ambo.
Currently, Jak is part of the morning show Unang Hirit and just finished his afternoon series Hanggang Makita Kang Muli, starring Bea Binene and Derrick Monasterio.
Jak is also seen every Sunday in the comedy anthology Dear Uge where he bares his toned body, much to the delight of host Divine.
