While he finds Arci Munoz sexy and beautiful, Jericho Rosales clarified that there’s no malice in their kissing scenes at all.
During the recent grand presscon of Magpahanggang Wakas, Jericho was asked by an entertainment reporter if he thoroughly enjoyed doing kissing scenes with Arci.
Jericho frankly replied, “Sarap na sarap? Kadalasan nga maalat ‘to, e!”
Arci, who was sitting beside Jericho, responded by saying that he tastes like garlic.
Jericho debunked the notion that doing a kissing scene is romantic. The fact that it was shot in the beautiful island of Caramoan doesn’t count, according to the Kapamilya actor.
“Grabe naman yung sarap na sarap!
“Sa totoo lang po hindi madaling gumawa ng love scene.
“Kahit sinong director magsasabi mahirap mag-mount ng love scene…
“Kailangan mo talagang maniwala na nagmamahalan kayo. You’re doing it for a very good reason.”
He also pointed out the fact that a number of people on the set witness the whole thing.
“So mahirap talaga. Nandiyan yung nagi-ilaw, nandiyan yung crew, may buhangin kami sa katawan, buong araw kaming naka-makeup… Iba na yung dating nung love scene. So yun ang challenge talaga.”
Jericho even candidly described Arci as having no qualms about going straight to taping for Magpahanggang Wakas from another gig without taking a bath.
“Dun naman sa sarap na sarap kay Arci, madalas kang maalat, e. ‘Cause lagi siyang sume-segue, so ‘di siya nakakaligo…
“I mean, masisisi ba kita kung amoy construction worker ka na?”
Arci did not deny Jericho’s revelation and simply stated, “Nagpunas naman ako ng kili-kili.”
BREAKING HIS LIMITS. Jericho admitted, however, that there was a point in his showbiz career that he said no to kissing scenes.
“I think ganun naman talaga. Dumadating sa buhay ng tao na may pinaniniwalaan ka.
“Stage, for me, yun. And it was an important stage for me para madiskubre ko kung ano talaga ang ginagawa ko para sa trabahong ito.
“Hindi ko niri-regret yun.”
At this point in his career, Jericho maintained that he has a deeper understanding of his craft.
“Of course, as a Christian, di ba? Nag-evolve, nagbago, umayos, mas malawak yung understanding ko, and I know my convictions and boundaries.”
With Magpahanggang Wakas, he sees nothing wrong with doing intimate scenes since the TV series tells a story of love.
JERICHO ROSALES AS WALDO. In Magpahanggang Wakas, Jericho plays the role of Waldo, a fisherman who also dreams of becoming an engineer. But his life will turn a different course as he falls in love with Aryann.
ARCI MUNOZ AS ARYANN. Arci plays the role of Aryann, a beautiful lass who will capture not only the heart of Waldo but also the interest of other men. An unfortunate series of events will test her inner strength and how far she will go for the sake of love.
