Kim Chiu is replacing Yen Santos in the teleserye titled Because You Love Me.
This was reported by Salve Asis on her column in Pilipino Star Ngayon today, September 15.
According to the report, ABS-CBN management decided to make Because You Love Me the TV comeback of Kim and Gerald, popularly known as Kimerald when they were still a love team and a real-life couple.
As a result, the scenes shot in Mindoro will not be used anymore.
In a recent interview with Yen, she said that all their establishing scenes in Bulalacao, Mindoro have already been shot.
However, their taping was temporarily stopped because, she said, “Kasi hiniram po si Direk Dan [Villegas] sa Till I Met You.
“Ginawa rin po ni Gerald 'yong movie niya. Hindi pa po kami ulit nagre-resume.”
Yen was referring to the movie How To Be Yours, where Gerald was paired with ex-girlfriend Bea Alonzo.
According to Yen, there was no definite date yet as to when their teleserye will start airing on ABS-CBN.
In case this happens, Because You Love Me will be the reunion of Kimerald after six years. Their last teleserye together was Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo in 2010.
