'Next Aga Muhlach'? Not yet, says actor

Aga says it was not yet the right time to label someone as the 'next Aga Muhlach.' First of all, 'I'm still here,' the actor jokingly says.

Multi-awarded actor Aga Muhlach said it was not the right time to label fellow actors as potentially measuring up, if not exceeding, his accomplishments as an artist.

Some young actors today have been compared to him—labeled as aspirants to be the “next Aga Muhlach.”

According to Aga, it’s not yet the right time to label anyone as such.

“It’s just my age, I’m still here so there’s no ‘next Aga Muhlach,’” he jokingly told Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP) during the press conference of “MaAGA ang Pasko sa Jollibee,” the fast food chain’s annual gift-giving campaign, last November 28 in Blue Wave, Pasay City.

Special mention was made to young actor Gerald Anderson, who is currently being dubbed as his “heir apparent” due to the similarities in how their careers blossomed while starting in show business.

“That’s unfair naman for him. He has his own name. But it’s unfair naman sa kanya yun. Nakakainsulto naman sa kanya yun. Parang he has his own personality so let him shine as Gerald Anderson,” Aga said.
