The 2007 Cinemalaya entry Tukso will be screened at the IndieSine of Robinsons Movieworld Galleria from October 3 to 9, 2007. This film bagged the Best Screenplay Award for Dennis Marasigan and co-writers Nikki Torres and Mara Paulina Marasigan in the 2007 Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival.
Inspired by Agatha Christie's short story, "Death by Frowning," Tukso (Temptation) is a mystery film with a twist. Two men become romantically involved with a young village lass who mysteriously turns up dead. When Monica (Diana Malahay) is found dead, an investigator named Adel (Shamaine Buencamino) is assigned to look into the case and gets to learn more about the girl and the people whose lives were affected by her death.
Sid Lucero portrays the role of Carlo, an architect fresh out of school, who is tapped to oversee a subdivision project owned by his girlfriend's father, but ends up having relationship with Monica. Ping Medina is Emer, Monica's childhood friend and former classmate who secretly pines for her.
Other people greatly affected by Monica's death are her father (Soliman Cruz), a subdivision developer (Ricky Davao), and a widow (Irma Adlawan). Different points of view make the film a gripping whodunit. It shows how Monica's death affects the relationships of the different characters.
