"I started as a movie columnist for The Fookien Times in 1962," says Tito Dougs, as showbiz folk call the veteran talent manager.

After 35 years, Douglas Quijano dusts his typewriter and starts writing again. He is starting his very own blog in PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal). Soon, you will read his views about the colorful world of showbiz and the fascinating people in it. And bonus, he will spill some juicy items.

Tito Dougs. "I started as a movie columnist for The Fookien Times in 1962," says Tito Dougs, as showbiz folk call the veteran talent manager. "From there, I worked as writer/editor for Movie Star and Screen Star. I also wrote a movie column—same time as the late Franklin Cabaluna—for the Daily Star, and eventually, for Pilipino Star." (Franklin Cabaluna, a veteran showbiz editor, became even more famous when the late Fernando Poe, Jr. reportedly beat him due to the negative press he wrote about the action king.)

He adds, "I stopped writing when martial law was declared and worked full-time doing P.R. [public relations]. I also wrote scripts, line produced for TV (Palibhasa Lalake) and movies (Shake, Rattle, and Roll 1, Scorpio Nights, Manila By Night, Tagos ng Dugo, etc.)."
