Gabby Concepcion clarified that Robin Padilla is not a replacement for the former's supposed movie with Sharon Cuneta.
It may be recalled that this 2017, Gabby and Sharon were originally set to shoot their reunion movie.
However, Gabby dropped out of the cast since he has been taping for GMA-7's teleserye Ika-6 Na Utos, which recently celebrated its first year on the air.
Eventually, it was announced that Robin is Sharon's leading man for the movie Unexpectedly Yours, which is still being shown in cinemas.
In an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other reporters during the December 11 set visit of Ika-6 Na Utos, the Kapuso actor reiterated that Robin is not a second choice for the film.
Gabby said, "Hindi, no no no! Kanya talaga yun. Kasi iba yung storya ng amin."
During the press conference for Unexpectedly Yours, Robin opened up to reporters saying that the movie is not really "his film."
The action star blurted out, "Hindi ko naman talaga pelikula ito, e. Pelikula ni Sharon-Gabby ito, e."
Sharon then butted in and clarified, "I'm sorry we scrapped that project totally, it's a totally different project made especially for you and me!"
Robin said that the story of Unexpectedly Yours was developed when he was already chosen as Sharon's new leading man.
Meanwhile, Gabby said that he is happy that the movie finally pushed through.
However, the 53-year-old actor admitted that he has not watched it yet since he is busy canning episodes for Ika-6 Na Utos.
"Hindi, e. Busy kami, e. Wala akong balita.
"Nabalitaan ko na lang na shinushooting na nila. Yun pala, tapos na! Airing na nga!
"Masyado naging busy, hindi ko natutukan."
