Jake Zyrus releases his self-composed single "Diamond," the first English song he performed as a transman.

Jake Zyrus, formerly known as Charice, released his first English single since coming out as a transman last 2017.

Titled "Diamond," Jake's new single is produced by Star Music.

Billboard.com described Jake's song as a "triumphant mid-tempo anthem in the vein of Shawn Mendes' balladry."

Shawn Mendes is a Canadian singer who became popular for his songs such as "Treat You Better" and "Mercy."

Jake's "Diamond" is a song he composed together with Trisha Denise. The songs seems to reflect what Jake experienced when he came out as a transman.

Part of the chorus goes: "If there’s no pressure, there’ll be no diamond/ So I don’t mind it coming my way."

The new single was released on ABS-CBN Music's YouTube Channel last Saturday, September 7.

In May 2018, four months before the "Diamond" single was released, Jake held a concert at the SM North EDSA Skydome.

He performed together with Jessica Sanchez and KZ Tandingan, who moved him to tears because of her message.
