AGB Nielsen Mega Manila Household Ratings (March 29-April 4, 2014): Carmela continues to beat Ikaw Lamang; Dyesebel triumphs over rival

Dyesebel is outperforming its rival mermaid-themed show, Kambal Sirena. This is according to the latest ratings data from AGB Nielsen Philippines from Mega Manila households from March 29 to April 4, 2014.

ABS-CBN is giving a good fight on weekday primetime. In the previous week, Kapuso primetime shows dominated the ratings, with Carmela leading the charge.

For March 29 to April 4, Carmela topped the ratings game three times (March 31, April 2 and April 4). There are days when Dyesebel, starring Anne Curtis, emerged as the No. 1 most-watched primetime show.

In the previous week, Kambal Sirena beat Dyesebel in the ratings three times. This week, Louise delos Reyes’s Kambal Sirena only won once (March 31), and the margin is only 0.2%. The ratings of Dyesebel started to pick up starting April 1 when Anne Curtis finally appeared on the remake of the Mars Ravelo classic.

But everything isn't so grim for the Kapuso station. Its other primetime shows still dominate their timeslots. Rhodora X, A 100-Year Legacy and Bubble Gang outperform ABS-CBN's The Legal Wife, The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition Doubles and Aquino & Abunda Tonight from day-to-day.

Marian Rivera's Carmela still wins over Coco Martin and Kim Chiu's Ikaw Lamang, but there's a day (April 3) when Ikaw Lamang won by 0.1%.

It also seems like 24 Oras has recovered to become the most-watched primetime newscast, winning against TV Patrol four times this week.

F4 FEVER IS BACK. Meteor Garden is back and it is winning ratings for ABS-CBN. The Taiwanese show conquered Philippine TV in 2003 when it was first aired on ABS-CBN. It is a cultural phenomenon, largely credited for letting Taiwanese and Korean shows to penetrate the local market.

ABS-CBN decided to bring it back on March 31, 2014, as replacement for Galema: Anak ni Zuma, and as a bid to win the afternoon slot. The Kapamilya station is having a hard time beating GMA-7's afternoon dramas in the ratings; Galema's last five episodes even lost to The Borrowed Wife.

The current ratings data from AGB indicate that Meteor Garden's return is another success for ABS-CBN. Its first five episodes have outperformed Innamorata, the GMA-7 drama on its timeslot. Meteor Garden also beat the Kapuso Network's Villa Quintana in the ranking of the most-watched shows on weekday afternoons.
