As a timely tribute to mothers everywhere, Maalala Mo Kaya tells the story of an 18-year old girl who learned how to love like a true mother by accepting responsibility for an unwanted child. Bea Alonzo appears in the May 9 episode of Maalala Mo Kaya to portray the life of Adela, a babysitter who becomes too attached to her ward named Abby. The drama anthology show of ABS-CBN shows how a woman's maternal instinct allows her to set aside her personal happiness for the sake of her ward.
See how Bea tackles this touching role before she is deglamorized as the Philippines' very own Betty La Fea.

SYNOPSIS. Third from the youngest among her siblings, Adela grew up having the least attention in the family. She stopped studying and worked as a baby-sitter at the age of 18. She took care of Abby, a baby girl from an unwanted affair. Abby's prominent family kept her identity a secret. Despite her youth, Adela became a mother to Abby. Adela loved her as her own, and devoted her years raising Abby. When Abby reached high school, her grandmother disclosed her true identity and that her "Nana Adela" was only her nanny. Nevertheless, nothing changed between them since Abby grew up to be a well-adjusted young lady.
As Adela matured, the time came for her to think of her own future. She got married in secret, but asked her husband to allow her to take care of Abby for one more year. Adela waited for Abby to finish high school before finally leaving her. Now, Adela is a doting mother to her own biological son. But Adela can never forget her beloved "daughter" Abby.
