Winwyn Marquez admitted that she wants to be part of the GMA-7 remake of the 2016 Korean drama Descendants of the Sun (DOTS).
Yesterday, April 23, GMA Network officially announced that Dingdong Dantes will top-bill the Philippine version of Descendants of the Sun.
Following the announcement, a netizen mentioned Winwyn in a tweet saying that she could play the role of Moira (Yoon Myung-Ju in the Korean version). This character is a military doctor who is a close friend of the lead characters.
The netizen also mentioned Rocco Nacino and Derek Ramsay in the tweet saying, "Now all we need is @nacinorocco's confirmation as Diego and @wynmarquez as Moira. Derek Ramsay can play as Argus. @gmanetwork @OfficialGMAHOA"
Winwyn quoted the tweet and expressed her wish to play one of the characters in Descendants of the Sun.
However, the beauty queen-actress said that she cannot be part of the remake because she is doing the upcoming afternoon drama series, Dahil sa Pag-ibig.
Winwyn wrote in her reply, "I would love to play the role of Yoon Myeong-Joo in DOTS ph adaptation been really vocal about it. Ive seen the series more than 3 times and just know everything about it haha but im already part of another show."
GMA-7 has already launched a teaser for Winwyn's upcoming show, Dahil sa Pag-ibig, with Sanya Lopez, Benjamin Alves, and Pancho Magno playing the other lead roles.
The TV series is scheduled to premiere sometime this May on GMA-7's Afternoon Prime block.
GMA-7 has also yet to announce the other cast members of Descendants of the Sun.
